Recommended Mailing List Software


Standard email software, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, and Apple Mail is not generally suitable for sending to mailing lists. Emails sent through SMTP2Go should ideally not contain more than 50 recipients per email. The use of special mailing list software means that numerous emails can be easily sent - each email sent to only one email address. Mailing list software can also be used to personally address each email sent (e.g. Dear <Name>).

Infacta Groupmail Setup:

If you haven't already, download GroupMail here.

The following instructions are for the Business Edition of GroupMail.

Select Account Manager from the Tools menu.

Click the button labeled ‘New’ to create a new account.

Enter a name, such as ‘SMTP2Go’ for your new account.

Then enter your Name, Organization, and make sure that the Email Address that you enter is one that you are allowed to send from through your SMTP2Go Corporate account.

Click the Delivery Options tab.

Make sure that Delivery Options is set to Standard, and enter smtpcorp.com into the SMTP Server field.

The Connections box can contain a value from 1 to 3.

Check the ‘Requires Authentication’ box, then click the button labeled ‘setup’.

Check the ‘Use SMTP Authentication (outbound)’ box and select ‘AUTH-LOGIN (Default)’.

Enter your SMTP username into Username and your SMTP password into Password. You can view and change these values by logging into your SMTP2Go Corporate control panel.

Click ‘OK’ to be taken back to the previous window.

Click the ‘Advanced’ button in the bottom-left.

Change the SMTP Port to 2525.

SMTP2Go Corporate's service is also open on ports 25, 8025 and 587.

Click OK.

When sending a mailing to numerous email addresses, you must place an unsubscribe link in the emails you send. The following video explain one way in which you can do this:

MaxBulk Mailer Setup:

If you haven't already, download MaxBulk Mailer here.

Select the Settings tab.

Enter smtpcorp.com:2525 as the SMTP host. Select ESMTP as the Authentication. In the second drop-down menu, select Login.

Enter your SMTP username into Account ID and your SMTP password into Password. You can view and change these values by logging into your SMTP2Go Corporate control panel.

For Delivery, make sure that Singly is checked. The Connections box can contain a value from 1 to 3.

Enter your email address into the From field.

Click the Save button to save button near the top of the screen to save this account.

Enter a name for the account, for example SMTP2Go.

When sending a mailing to numerous email addresses, you must place an unsubscribe link in the emails you send. We highly recommend using the Mailing List Manager (MLM) tool, which fully integrates with MaxBulk Mailer. This tool allows you to maintain your mailing list automatically online, with subscribe and unsubscribe requests handled automatically. No need to go through tedious and boring import/export steps! It also provides you with message opening and click-through tracking statistics.
